UScellular Honored as Gold Stevie® Award Winner in 2024 American Business Awards®

CHICAGO (April 25, 2024) – UScellular was named the winner of two gold Stevie® Awards for the Marketing Disruptor of the Year and Marketing Campaign of the Year – Electronics categories in the 22nd Annual American Business Awards®.

More than 3,700 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories.

The winning nomination for both UScellular awards is the company’s “Built For US” campaign, an initiative designed to lead the conversation around developing healthier relationships with technology. The campaign kicked off in February 2023 and includes a variety of programs and tools such as:

  • The "Phones Down for 5 Challenge," an invitation for people to take a phone break in a way that works for them.
  • US Mode, an effort to help smartphone users better utilize customizable native focus settings on their smartphones.
  • In partnership with Screen Sanity, the company introduced the “Smarter Start Toolkit,” a free, downloadable kit for families looking for guidance on building better digital habits.

More than 300 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s Stevie Award winners. A notable comment on UScellular’s nomination included, “I like that the campaign not only raises awareness but also provides practical tools and resources to help individuals reset their relationship with technology, fostering genuine human connections.”

“It’s an honor to be recognized for this campaign, especially for being a disruptor in a highly competitive industry,” said Eric Jagher, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for UScellular. “With Built for US, we challenged something bigger than ourselves, and we continue to bring awareness to the hyperconnected relationship we have with our devices and the lack of connection with those around us. We hope we’ve inspired everyone to have a reset moment with technology, the first step in having a healthier relationship moving forward.”

“While growth in much of the world economy has recovered slowly from the COVID-19 pandemic, the American economy continues to show remarkable resilience and growth,” said Stevie Awards president Maggie Miller. “Our 2024 Stevie winners have contributed to that successful recovery through their innovation, persistence, and hard work.  We congratulate all our winners in the 2024 ABAs and look forward to celebrating their achievements during our June 11 awards banquet in New York.”
