Associate Community Passions

Our associates are deeply committed to engaging with their communities. We offer a range of programs to support their charitable endeavors, including personal donation matching, Dollars for Doers and skills-based volunteerism.

Our Associates Give, We Give

When our associates give to their favorite nonprofits, we give too. UScellular matches associates’ donations dollar for dollar to registered nonprofits up to $2500. In 2022, we gave $250,000 in matching donations to support the causes and communities our associates care about most.

Associates' contributions supported these categories:

  • 26% Health and Human Services
  • 20% Education
  • 14.3% Public and Societal Benefit
  • 11.4% Environment and Animals
  • 11% Miscellaneous
  • 9% International
  • 8.3% Arts and Humanities

Caring about Communities

We recognize our associates’ commitment to our communities through a Dollars for Doers program and the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. We celebrate our communities and causes during special times of year, such as the National Volunteer Month and the holidays. In 2023, our associates gave 13,500 hours participating in volunteer experiences across the country.

Giving Our Skills

UScellular associates put their knowledge and skills to use to help nonprofits solve some of their biggest challenges. From 2022 through Q2 2023, our nonprofit partner Common Impact coordinated more than 70 UScellular associates to participate in four skills-based volunteer projects, including one-day pitch competitions and long-term consulting projects. benefitting three nonprofits, STEAM Engine, Project Syncere and Math Circles of Chicago.

Our associates made a long-lasting impact on these nonprofits giving nearly 650 hours of volunteer time, equal to more than $200,000 in donation value. And the experiences had an impact on the associate volunteers as more than 90 percent of the associates thought the experience was a useful professional development opportunity and are more inclined to recommend UScellular as a great place to work.

Donating Resources to Maui Wildfire Survivors

To help the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities impacted by the Maui wildfires, UScellular’s Asian American Network (AAN) associate resource group organized a donation drive that collected over 10,000 diapers and more than 40,000 wipes to help Maui area families in need. Donations, supporting the Aloha Diaper Bank, were given by associates in the Chicago and Tulsa area offices, and Milwaukee area UScellular retail locations.
