Supporting our Veterans and their Families

Today is Veterans Day; an opportunity to honor the veterans who work alongside us and live in the communities we serve. As a veteran of the Marines, it’s an exciting and proud moment to share how UScellular is continuing to demonstrate support of veterans and their families.

  • In 2023, we will enhance our support and compensation for active-duty associates. When an associate is deployed for military service and is paid less than what they’re paid at UScellular, we will provide the difference between the associate’s military pay and their UScellular salary for up to 12 months, an increase from up to one month currently. Our goal is to help reduce the impact that an associate’s military duties have on them and their families.
  • We have always placed a high importance on hiring military personnel, veterans and their families into our Dynamic Organization. We currently have more than 250 jobs available across sales, customer support, IT, engineering and many others. Our benefits focus on physical, emotional, social and financial well-being and an education assistance program with eligibility starting after only 90 days of employment.
  • We continue to offer active military, reserves and veterans 15% off their monthly wireless plan to show our appreciation for their service to our country.
  • We recently provided a grant to Black Diamond Charities, a nonprofit that provides free project management training for veterans to help advance their civilian careers.

A short time ago I sat down with Bill Baxter from Black Diamond Charities and Denise Lintz, our vice president of enterprise portfolio management, to discuss how the partnership we’ve created will set up veterans and their spouses for success in their careers.

I hope you’ll check out our video conversation below and join me in extending my gratitude and appreciation for all active military personnel, reserves and veterans – today and every day.
